The Bird set is a journey through the skankin beats of drum'n'bass, to the chill grooves of dub, a flight through trance and electronica, and a celebration of organic percussion rhythms.
The Bird mix the spontaneity of live music with the discipline of dance floor beats, opening a unique line of communication with their audience. Being 100% live enables The Bird to be driven by the response their music evokes. Each performance lets inspiration and the energy of the crowd guide the direction of this musical journey.
The Bird are Simon Durrington (keyboards) & Ben Walsh (drums) who are joined by a collective of some of the country's finest artists including Indian tabla player Bobby Singh (Dha, Gondwanaland), double bass player Barry Hill (Amphibian), turn-tablist Dave Atkins (2 Dogs), Indian vocalist Sukhi Singh (Dha), and Cicada (As Is) on live visuals. All these artists share The Bird's love of pushing the boundaries of dance music, and appear with The Bird at varying times so as to keep it fresh for the audience. This means that every performance is unique and different from the last. The result: live music, live art, live sensory stimulation, a new direction in dance music.
